NX100 x OK Go “What is your next project?” winning 2 awards at ADFEST 2011!

Samsung’s NX100 with OK Go “What is your next project? Last Leaf” campaign has won 2 awards from 14th ADFEST on 18th of March, the three-day festival of advertising, ideas and creativity held at Mövenpick Resort & Spa in Phuket, Thailand from March 17th to 19th, 2011.

“What is your next project? Last Leaf” has won silver prize from Film Craft Lotus “Single for Animation” category and bronze prize from Cyber Lotus “Best Use of Viral” category.

Last Leaf” campaign partnering with viral music video pioneers OK Go in creating the band’s latest music video has marked out uncharted territory for both music videos and camera brand marketing. The music video was filmed using the new Samsung NX100, Samsung’s latest innovation in premium camera technology.

Samsungimaging’s Special Invitation – The 2nd Imageloger’s Exhibition






Last Saturday, the Samsung imageloger’ s Exhibition was held at Samsung d’ light in Seoul. This second exhibition followed on the heels of the first successful exhibition held in June of this year.
Like the last exhibition, many people participated in everything from the opening ceremony to viewing Imagelogers’ photos to just enjoying the whole event. The second half of the Imageloger’s Photo Exhibition will be held from December 18, 2010 until January 15, 2011 in the gallery hall of the Samsung d’light.
As you may or may not already know, Imageloger is a combination of the words ‘image’ and ‘blogger’. It refers to a social relationship or space through which we share stories by way of images. The Imageloger is aimed to contribute to a better and happier world while sharing images under the title of “I am a good blogger.”
Introduction of the Imagelogers and the reports on their activities were made by Samsung’s staffs in charge of this event. Ten Imagelogers from China visited the opening ceremony and celebrated the photo exhibition. They also didn’t forget to mention their expectation of Samsung’s new camera which will make its debut sometime in the upcoming year.
We can’t forget the awards ceremony for the best Imagelogers. Samsung awarded plaques and additional prizes to four Imagelogers. They were surprised yet delighted at receiving the unexpected prizes. Also, Samsung held a lucky draw for the attendees by giving the Galaxy Tab and a Samsung camera.
While enjoying refreshments, attendees had time to appreciate 116 of the awesome pictures taken by the Imagelogers from 16 countries including those by Daniel Kulinski and Ben Heine.

The NX100′s Leaf Design Won the PIN UP Design Awards!

Samsung Electronics Co,. Ltd has proudly announced that the NX100, a new Samsung mirrorless interchangeable lens camera, has been awarded in ‘PIN UP Design Awards 2010/2011’.
The PIN UP Design Awards is held by Korea Association of Industrial Designers. There are nine sectors including Electronic Devices, Electronic Appliances, Transportation, Home Living & Accessories, Furniture, Office Equipment & Supplies, Future Strategic Research, Environments, Industrial Equipments & Apparatus, Interaction.
The screening meeting composed of prominent domestic and foreign designers selects products recognized to have outstand designs among the submitted products as PIN UP certified designs. Among the selected certified designs, products with exceptionally outstanding designs for each sector are selected as PIN UP Gold, PIN UP Silver, and PIN UP Bronze.
Samsung NX100 has received PIN UP Bronze of Electronic Devices’ sector, which is for electronic products referring to all designs made through electronic devices and includes mobile phones, digital cameras, camcorders, laptops, digital TV, PMP, audios, etc.
The design of the NX100, so beloved by consumers, is inspired by the simple shape of dew forming on a leaf, which can be seen on the camera’s shutter button and curved body.

The winners of this year’s red dot award: Samsung Micro Sites


Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.
announced their micro sites of ST5500 (CL80) / ST5000 (TL240) cameras and HMX-M20 / SMX-C20 / SMX-C24 camcorders have been awarded communication design and promotion video each from red dot design award 2010.
With more than 12,000 submissions from more than 60 countries, the international “red dot design award” is the largest and most renowned design competition in the world. It is divided into the “red dot award: product design”, the “red dot award: communication design” and the “red dot award: design concept.” The award-winning products are put before an international public in the red dot design museum.
All award-winning works will be presented in the bilingual “international yearbook communication design 2010/2011”; additionally they will be featured in the winners’ exhibition at the red dot design museum and in the winners’ online exhibition at www.reddot.de

The European Advanced Compact Camera 2010-2011 from EISA: Samsung EX1(TL500)




Samsung
Electronics Co., Ltd. proudly announced that the Samsung camera has been awarded the European Advanced Compact Camera 2010-2011 from the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) for the Samsung EX1(TL500) with ultra-wide 24mm F1.8 Schneider KREUZNACH lens with 3x zoom turn heads. Established in 1982, the European Imaging Sound Association(EISA) is a multimedia association that tests consumer electronic products by 50 special interest magazines from 19 European countries. It’s internationally known for the European EISA Awards.


According to the EISA, “The Samsung EX1(TL500) is a very solidly built and high-quality compact camera for demanding hobby photographers. The high-quality, super-fast, 24-70mm F1.8-2.4 wide angle zoom lens allows photography in low-light conditions without the photographer having to resort to high ISO settings. The camera offers more advanced users the choice to record raw as well as JPEG file formats, while the AMOLED tilt-and-swivel display is good quality and makes shooting from creative angles very easy.”

Cyber Lions Winner at Cannes 2010 ‘Nonja’ and…


The most famous orangutan in the world ‘Nonja’ is now the winner of two fabulous awards. It’s not even the first time Nonja won the marketing awards. Check the previous article about her here.
Samsung Electronics Austria has proudly announced that marketing idea of Samsung ST1000(CL65) with Nonja has won Silver Cyber Lions at the Cannes Lions(Category: Community Applications).
The International Advertising Festival – Cannes Lions – is the world’s biggest celebration of creativity in communications. As the most prestigious international annual advertising awards, over 24,000 entries from all over the world are showcased and judged at the Festival.
The followings are extracts from the original article of Cannes Lions.
Samsung needed a strong marketing idea to launch the ST1000(CL65), a digital camera that can upload pictures directly to facebook and is really easy to use. The budget available? Less than 50,000 USD. We wanted to prove the easy handling to the Facebook users by giving the camera to Nonja, an orangutan in the national zoo to take and upload pictures. The world’s first ape on facebook became a world wide phenomenon. Over 80’000 fans joined her account in just six weeks. The international press cover age was worth over 7 Mill. USD.”
In addition, Samsung’s Nonja project has won the ADC*E(Art Director Club of Europe) awards as Gold level of Web & use of media, in July.
ADC*E is the only Awards scheme in the world to bring all the European award winning work from the national schemes into one competition. Once submitted, the work is judged by a panel of over 50 top creatives, a wonderful opportunity for European professionals from advertising, design, editorial, illustration, film, new media and photography to come together and highlight their country’s creativity.
ADC*E is an association of European Creative Clubs. Its aim is to foster and reward creative excellence in European design and advertising, and this is why every year it takes place the ADC*E Awards -Best of European Design and Advertising.
