Lake Gouët, My French Hometown

Samsung Electronics has provided the author of this article with the mentioned digital imaging device.
Today I decided to introduce you “Le Gouët”. It’s a lake located close to my hometown in France, where I enjoy the beauty of nature since I am a child.

Brief history
It is a drinkable water reserve for all the villages that stand around, an artificial lack; the water is maintained by a dam build in 1978. Nevertheless, it is an amazing wild place where live a big number of birds and fishes. For me, who has born in 1986 and who’s always seeing this area as a big water reservoir, it’s incredible to think that before, “Le Gouët” was a tiny river as being shown on the engraving below made in 1892.

Activities around the lake
At this time of the year, people enjoy to pick mushrooms, chestnut, or wild berries. With my friends I regularly have a beer by the shores waiting a fish bites our hooks. It’s a refreshing and quite place but It is also where I become exhausted trying to follow my father who is an experienced jogger. Today it becomes my favorite place to walk with my Samsung NX10 in the hand.

I grew up with this lake
During my childhood I built many wounds on trees close to the water. Then, when I grew up I had parties on its beaches, playing guitar around a campfire and slipping in a rudimentary camp. And finally I used this peaceful and romantic place as a seduction tool by having a moment without word with a woman I’ve met, who became later my lovely mate.

I love to take pictures of “Le Gouët”
Lake Gouët has various colors depending on seasons. Spring and summer are the best period to capture bursting colors, but automn and winter are also lovely for its delicate texture. It gives me powerful imaginations with its changing tones. I just appreciate all that I see around the lake. Such a comfortable feeling, when I simply go for a walk, or even with electronic musics. Since I got the Samsung NX10, what my feelings tell can be exactly realised by images.

Santa Monica

Santa Monica

It’s been a while, since I posted here.

Anyways, unlike in the beginning, I’m starting to love life in the States. Been too a couple of places here and there, and it feels good to travel around. It’s actually amazing how many masterpieces of nature you can visit in the U.S..

I most recently made a trip to the beach in Santa Monica and it was  AWESOME. It’s possibly the greatest beach that i’ve ever been. Weather wasn’t that fantastic, but that was only a minor downside.

You can literally feel the nature.

As said, you can widely feel the nature. You can hear the sound of ocean, waves and feel the wind blowing… It’s hard to say enough that a feeling is like taking you home.

A well, In my best shot, I took at the beach. Do you see the house on the right? Man, I’d love to live there. Unfortunately, I got short time to stay, so this is pretty much of it!

See you next time!

Light of the Wood

Samsung Digital Imaging has provided the author of this review with the mentioned digital imaging device.
By a need of pure air, I went out with my new camera to crush the soil and take shots of the light. It’s the first time I use a reflex camera and I’m too excited to see what I could do with. Wow. I’m very friendly with this wood but now, everything seems to have other importance than usual. Through the lens, my eyes become much more sensitive to the details of the nature.
I’ve freshly obtained my master degree in tropic agronomic engineering, which means that I learnt the methods and techniques for maintaining the health and the productivity of plants. That’s probably why, I have always been feeling bad when I saw inefficient circumstances to their development, such as, for example, an over population of bugs that love to eat juicy leaves, a seedling that begins its life in a tamped-space to welcome roots until the moment of maturity, or a big and robust trunk that have been cut, that certainly will be burned.

Since the time I had this new camera, I stop my step for a moment to feel the sadness, to be concentrated on the beauty of those dramatic scenes.
Shooting makes me become more and more close to the objects. I’m totally absorbed by the light that falling here and there. I’m going from a spot to the another, discovering new area that I have never dared to explore before. I forget the paths, to finally reach areas that hidden rare mysteries, somehow attractive for one who likes to capture the nature by images.
Without caring about the ants that beat me, and an old passerby who looks at me suspiciously, I discover or rediscover the beauty of the nature. I thank to the forest to be so beautiful. I’m proud to be here and now to appreciate it, to catch the images making them everlasting and sharable on the Samsungimaging blog.
