Samsung ST100 Digital Camera

The Samsung ST100 DigitalCamera is small enough to fit into almost any pocket but it also has one of the largest TFT screens around. It is totally touchscreen in operation so those who have been brought up on touch will certainly enjoy using this camera.

The Samsung ST100 Digital Camera measures 10x6x2cm and weights only 155grams.
The face has the lens and the flash both are in the same plain with the flash central on the unit and the lens towards the right edge. It uses a periscope type device inside the camera to zoom as the lens never visually moves in or out.
The right side has an anchor point for a wrist strap, the left side just say 14.2MP the resolution. The base has a door behind which are the solid battery and any SD card you might use, it has has the connection for the provided proprietary USB lead and of course a tripod screw fitment point. The back is the 7.7x4.6cm TFT which using the imperial measure (diagonally) is 3.5inches. This leaves the only other item the top of the camera.

Samsung's most compact dualscreen camera to date, the ST100 is quite different from past models in this line. While sharing almost identical specs to the new ST600, the ST100 uses an internal 5x optical zoom lens, and is noticeable smaller. Like the ST600, it features a larger 1.8-inch front LCD screen, allowing you to share images with your subjects or easily capture self-portraits.

The ST100 boasts 14-megapixels of resolution, a 3.5-inch touchscreen LCD on the back of the camera, smart face recognition, and 720p HD video capture.

t's arguable, but we'd say that Samsung's NX100 is the news coming out of Photokina 2010. You could say that Panasonic's Lumix DMC-GH2 (and its 3D interchangeable lens), Fujifilm's not-yet-released FinePix X100 or Sigma's Foveon-packin' SD1 were of equal importance, but it's pretty clear who stands to lose (or gain) the most from their ginormous push in Cologne. You wouldn't know that Samsung even brought another product to the show if you casually glanced at its booth, and we were able to take the outfit's newest starlet out for a spin in order to gain a few impressions. Priced at just $599 (with a 20-50mm lens; the 20mm pancake lens bundle will run you $50 more), this October-bound camera is certainly positioned to rival the other major players in terms of MSRP. Image and video quality Here's the thing -- the NX100 may be a bit quicker operationally, and it may present the user with a few more advanced settings compared to a traditional point-and-shoot, but we aren't completely sold on the value proposition.
