Samsung TL500 Review

Samsung TL500 Full Review

Samsung's TL500 (EX-1 in Europe) is not your typical compact digital camera. The TL500 can function nicely as a point and shoot camera, but it was designed for photo enthusiasts. The very compact TL500 is attractive in an understated way, feels solid and stable in your hands, and features a robustly constructed all metal body with a genuine handgrip.

Most current point-and-shoots come with a flimsy wrist strap, but the TL500 sports a neckstrap which not only provides better protection against drops and bumps, but also saves a few seconds when a Kodak moment occurs since the camera is always at hand rather than in your pocket (or worse, at home). The TL500, unlike the auto exposure only point-and-shoots currently dominating the imaging marketplace, permits full manual control of exposure.
The TL500's first-rate 3x zoom (from legendary German lens maker Schneider-Kreuznach) features a very fast f/1.8 maximum aperture, which makes it almost a full f-stop faster (it lets in nearly twice as much light as the f/2.8 maximum apertures of the vast majority of current point-and-shoots) than most of its competition. Faster lenses are, everything else being equal, better than slower lenses because they substantially increase low light/natural light options for serious photographers.

samsung EX1 Review

We review the Samsung EX1 - with its fast, bright lens, this compact will turn heads

Samsung have made huge progress in the compact camera market in a relatively short amount of time going from strength to strength. They have set their sights high attempting to offer a professional compact at an aggressive price point in the market, but can they deliver?
For a compact camera the body is a bit too bulky for a pocket and is better suited to being carried in a bag or small case. The camera body feels solid and well built with the lens protected safely behind the cap and the screen rotated inward out of harm.
A stand out feature for this model has to be it’s 3” rotating AMOLED screen. Perfect for shooting low down macro shots, composing self portraits and avoiding glare whilst taking shots. Colours and detail on the screen are clear and crisp. Perfect for both reviewing images and altering menu options.
Having a lens cap and swivel screen does bring drawbacks to a compact camera. One real advantage to having a compact is it’s accessibility. With the EX1 you will quite often miss shooting opportunities fiddling with the screen and lens cap. The additional optical viewfinder (sold separately) would change the way you used the camera and give it a more accessible feel.
Otherwise startup is smooth and control setup is made as simple as possible with the menu dials. Even the menus have a scroll wheel on the front so you can get in and navigate around them quickly.

Two Weekends, Two Places

Samsung Electronics has provided the author of this article with the mentioned digital imaging device.
For last two weekends, I was invited in other places by near people. On the first weekend, I made a visit to my friends living in Rennes. Rennes is one of the most beautiful cities in France, which has been the capital of Brittany region for ages. The city was a cultural nucleus for people in Brittany kingdom, when isn’t yet integrated as a part of France. Still there is many beautiful gothic and medieval architectures over the entire city, but now is more coming to fame for students, of which 30% of the total population are students.
The river cutting through calm of the city and old statues along historical monuments has completely fascinated me. I also had good moments in my friends’ apartment. That was an excellent weekend in an atmosphere preferably peaceful.

On the other weekend, I went to visit my grandmother. She welcomed me so delightfully as usual. She lives in a typical medieval village with old stone-built houses, just like from a fairy tale, where we can also see many impressive wooden-decorated buildings from a street to another. My grandmother and I had an outing under a clear sky. It was really pleasant.

Holiday !!!

Samsung Electronics has provided the author of this review with the mentioned digital imaging device.
This time will be about the holidays. Although difficult for me to write about them because for me are over. This time we were national holidays. The first time in years I was at the Polish seaside. It was a great decision not regret !

The weather was extraordinary ! Every day, 30 degrees and the sun. The hotel has been our expectation. My brother just did it and we had a super awesome hotel for funny money.
For 7 days with food for 3 people in a four-star hotel we paid $150 instead of $720 !!!!! Shock or Luxus :D

During the stay I made a mass of photos. some of them of course to the private collection ;)
I had trouble taking pictures becouse of the equipment. I became a happy owner of a new 50-200mm lens and a flash for NX10 and brand super duper EX1.

I admit that I have a problem now. Both cameras are amazing and I recommend them to anyone. The only thing that bothers me is another operating of EX1 in compared to NX10, I’m looking for the features in EX1 which exist in the NX10. Apparently nothing, but you have to switch.

I’m a little angry with myself. I had almost no ideas for pictures and there were so many possibilities ! I did say several hundred, but somehow I’m not with them fully satisfied. Fortunately, some photos came out and I think I can commend them to you.

Sense of Life

Kangtaehwan_landscape_32

WB1000(TL320) 1/90s l F7.2 l ISO 80 l 4mm

Life is like a hesitation staying between a feeling of expectancy and a feeling of lack. Sense of accomplishment is something certainly understandable, but barely practicable. It seems that only the brave ancestors and young lovers in twenty centuries know how to walk a tightrope tied up from the balance of hesitation. Universe has totally obtained the guarantee to exist by amplifying its vibration. Humans are born since the relevant days, and the great quantum string goes on to keep the existence trembling.

All the things we decide to drop off on such petty surface of the earth will always remain on the tightrope where sense of life survives. We just walk on the line like archeologists who have sought for decades for borns and patterns in vestiges of ancient civilization destroyed. Tiny slopes on the string will always be a pleasure. But we also are conscious that living the life is not one of the first choices should be done since the birth, because more the enthusiasm is incarcelated, more the sensation of live takes place.

NX and the City

Samsung Digital Imaging has provided the author of this review with the mentioned digital imaging device.

Again, while I was gone. Now is the last post before my holiday. Finally it’s warm.
I hope that by the sea will be hot too. I can assure you that I bring a lot of new pictures.

After passing through the gate is a step back in time.
