The HMX-Q10 – Easy-to-Use Full HD Camcorder

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd
has released the HMX-Q10 providing the best in full HD quality, with smart
features that have been specially designed to be very easy to use.

The HMX-Q10 is Samsung’s 2011 flagship
camcorder product aimed at the “Easy on the Go” segment, and offers the world’s
first Switch Grip, meaning that left or right handed users can enjoy an easy
video experience.

The HMX-Q10 includes Easy Operation via its touch-screen user interface on
its LCD, to turn the camcorder on and off, and use the playback function.

The HMX-Q10 is a key product for Samsung in 2011 and is
designed to provide a platform for securing HD camcorder leadership through
leveraging Samsung’s leadership in
differentiated usability.

The HMX-Q10’s Switch Grip feature will appeal to users who are particularly
interested in ease-of-use and practicality, as will its affordable price – as
value is the greatest priority for this audience when making a purchase.

The latest offering provides full HD Movie capability with Easy Operation via
the LCD and added OIS Duo System to compensate for hand-shaking (better than
ever before) to create a stable, clear video every time.

The HMX-Q10 is a new development for Samsung, and its key
features are specifically designed for ease-of-use.It also includes features
such as Smart Auto and a BSI CMOS sensor that creates high image quality that is
achieved automatically and intuitively.

Turn Samsung’s HMX-Q10 Camcorder Upside Down For Full HD Recording

Like the smartphone that rights itself whichever way you turn it, Samsung's Q10
camcorder still records perfectly even if you flip it, thanks to its
accelerometer. Ideal for left-handers, or those who find something better for
their right-hand to do.
The Switch Grip, as it's called, is the jewel in the crown of an otherwise
so-so camcorder. It shoots full HD, but compromises at 60i. Dropping the
resolution down to 720p will shoot in 60p. It also takes photos at 4.9MP
resolution.

Hardware-wise, it's got a 2.7-inch touchscreen, and takes SDHC/SD cards, and
has USB and HDMI ports. On sale in February, it'll cost $299.

Anyang Central Market

The markets of Korea are tons of fun, and one of my favorite places is my local one in Anyang. Every time I go there, I find something new and interesting. It’s a labyrinth of stalls and alleys, and after five years, I don’t think I’ve explored it all. It’s always bustling with not only shoppers but motor scooters making deliveries.

I’ve been wanting to make a video of my market, and the opportunity arose when Arirang TV wrote and asked to do a segment on how I do my blog. Rather than do the usual go to restaurant with foreigners and blogging about it on the laptop, I suggested we check out the market together.

I met the crew of three. One could speak English. And they followed me around as I shot videos of all the sights, sounds and smells (well, couldn’t video the smell). I sampled a bit of fresh kimchi and got to go up close to the red pepper mills to watch dried chillies being ground into the famous gochugaru. You wouldn’t believe how awesome the smell was. And I even found something new, this time a dark buckwheat tea that tasted toasty and warm. It was being sold as diet food, but I bought it because it tasted good.

Making of ‘B-Boy Dance in the Dark with E10’

Our video ‘B-Boy Dance in the Dark’ is a futuristic union of athletic B boys with uniforms featuring 20 camcorders.
For ‘B-Boy Dance’, 20 of E10 Camcorders and about 3L fluorescent liquid were used.
Videos that were played through LCDs of E10s were recorded earlier by shooting colorful videos on computer monitor.
E10 Key Feature
- Pocket Size (Ease of Use)
- 1080 full HD video
- 270 degree Swivel Angle Lens
- Smart Filter & Panorama mode
- Built in USB arm
- 2.7” Touch LCD
Please visit Samsung E10 Microsite!
The main reason why we used fluorescent liquid with flickering E10 LCDs is that we believed that glowing materials could enhance the visual impression of every single detail of B boys’ move.
B boys you see in the video are Zero-Nine and Ghost who are well known professional B-boys.
It was an awesome opportunity to work with them and we believe that our video turned out just like the way we planned.
